Takeover #1 - Musicbox no São Luiz
Um artista Luso-Africano confinado em casa, a partilhar música, tecidos, tecendo comentários sobre a imagem reflectida de África no mundo ou sobre como o Algoritmo traduz o Continente. Entre um Homo Sapiens (com piadinhas), um gato (caça likes!), um dj, no fundo, um artista a reinventar-se (safar-se) no confinamento.
Pedro Coquenão tem criado e desenvolvido trabalho na área da música, rádio, dança, artes visuais e plásticas sob o nome Batida. Batida apresenta: The Algorithm is not African! foi criado para o #TheRootsAfricaDay, a convite dos The Roots, e transmitido a 18 de Junho em Emissão especial na Worldwide FM de Gilles Peterson.
Gilles Peterson apresentou-o assim num especial dedicado na BBC 6 Music:
“There’s certain types of music that come out of Portugal, Lisbon, over the years...! All of this is sort of linked together for me by this one producer who goes by the name of Batida. It’s just on another level in terms of how he presents his show, how he approaches his music making, whether he is Djing or performing live, or adding visuals, philosophically just how he goes about his business.”
